Substance Use Counselor

Bridgeway Community Health is currently seeking qualifiedSubstance Use Counselorfor our growing Outpatient treatment team!Come join our elite team of professionals who all have a passion to see lives changed and relationships restored.Bridgeway is a new kind of healthcare organization providing holistic treatment through addiction recovery, problem gambling treatment, mental health therapy, and primary medical care.Position PurposeSubstance Use Counselors build an alliance with clients by providing education and motivation to support them in making positive changes in their lives and reducing the negative consequences associated with substance use and abuse.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvides client-centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed services.Uses motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active engagement in services.Conducts assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5.Works collaboratively with other providers to ensure services are seamless.Provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals.Facilitates evidence-based groups.Conducts individual counseling sessions.Types and maintains timely and accurate documentation, including group notes, individual notes, status reports, as well as documenting other contacts made concerning the client.Monitors random urinalysis testing.Completes monthly status reports for all clients on caseload and facilitates sending them to providers involved with the client's care.Other Duties And ResponsibilitiesCoordinates and maintains a working relationship with all referral sources.Attends staff meetings and works as a member of a multidisciplinary team to identify and implement quality services.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications and Experience Experience, Education, and CredentialsRequires an Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university.In addition to formal education, the qualified candidate will generally have at least one to three years of drug & alcohol addiction counseling experience. CADC I or higher certification required with MHACBO.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal communication skills.Strong computer and time management skills.Advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM-5.Intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules is preferred.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
