Motorcoach Transportation Manager
The primary role of the CDL Transportation Manager is to oversee the CDL transportation department and all related vehicles and equipment used to provide those services. The CDL Transportation Manager will also oversee all vehicle and equipment maintenance, stationing, and inventory with assistance of the Shop Foreman. The CDL Transportation Manager must have an in depth understanding of all activities offered by Varsity Travel Travel and the locations, procedures, processes, and purposes of each. The CDL Transportation Manager is expected to contribute to the quality of the experience for guests and aim to create repeating relationships with them.

Promote a positive outlook on Varsity Travel Travel
Oversee daily operations, planning, implementation, emergency response, development and adherence to policies and procedures for coaches and drivers
Ensure all guests have a remarkable trip experience.
Preparations for departures need to be made in advance
Transportation preparations include
Making sure to stay on top of coach maintenance between each trip
Making sure the coaches are cleaned and fueled
Determine driving directions and special itineraries
Confirming their hotel rooms, if needed
Dispatching drivers for each trip
All trips must depart on time.
Coordinate appropriate staff for emergency responses if necessary.
Meet with the reservation manager daily to ensure productivity and company needs are being met.
Oversee hiring, training, retraining, and evaluating staff.
Working with the insurance company on getting new drivers insured.
Perform monthly evaluations
Discipline and termination of staff if necessary.
Coordinate scheduling for all drivers, cleaners and maintenance shop
Schedule must be posted 2 weeks in advance in a central location and updated as needed.
Oversee department paperwork
Maintenance documentation for equipment
Employee files
New hire documents
Training documents
Discipline documents
Time off requests
Complete monthly, weekly, and daily check lists and submit to owners upon completion
Oversight of general cleanliness and organization of the coaches
Ensuring vehicle and equipment safety checks are performed before transporting guests.
Management and controlling of departmental costs
Overseeing payroll and efficiency
Address and resolve guest and/or employee complaints in an appropriate manner.
Collect employee suggestions for program changes and improvements.
Complete all duties as assigned

Qualifications (Minimum Qualifications and experience)
Valid and current CDL driving license with passenger endorsement.
At least 5 years experience driving with a CDL driving license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Has a general passion in keeping a clean and beautiful coaches for guests.

Mechanical skills (handy if something needs to be fixed or repaired)
Physical Aspects of the Position
Ability to understand and implement safety regulations and procedures
Ability, both visual and auditory, to identify safety hazards and monitor guest and staff behavior and enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures
Ability to walk, stand, bend and stretch
Ability to lift, up to approximately 50 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds may be required.
Ability to safely and properly use power tools and equipment
Ability to safely drive coaches
Visual and auditory (hearing) ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the operation.
Due to the nature of the industry you are required to work on weekends and holidays.
