As a family-owned business, our focus is on crafting playful and sophisticated prints on boutique-style clothing, sleepwear, and accessoriesJob DescriptionCutie Pie Baby is looking to hire an experienced Textile Colorist to be part of our product development team. This role works on print and color approval processes, ensuring the quality of all samples sent by the factory. This person needs to have a sharp eye for detail and be able to evaluate all print strike-offs to manage colors and patterns. Being able to manage timelines is a critical part of this role, along with these other responsibilities:Ability to apply strong knowledge of the color spectrum to comment on print strike-offs in a fast-paced environment,Exert independent approval/rejection of all main material and trim components based on color standards.Analyze and disseminate comments daily to overseas factories and suppliers.Anticipate, identify, and assess quality and fabric challenges.Act as a liaison on color issues between product development and design to ensure production timelines are being met.Manage data and records throughout the approval process.Responsibilities A colorist is responsible for color and product integrity ensuring that color/fabric/trim submits match approved standards.Match submissions to color and quality standards across multiple brands and categories in woven, knit, and sweater fabrications.Work closely with cross functional teams including design and production to achieve the desired outcomes.Issue comments on lab dips, knit downs, strike offs, handlooms, trim, PP samples, and TOP samples.Be able to effectively communicate corrections to the factories to resolve inaccuracies in color submissions.Maintain an organized filing system tracking all rounds of submits for each delivery.Ensure that approvals are issued within the necessary timeframes to achieve delivery deadlines.General support in other areas as needed.Qualifications2-3 years of experience in a similar role or fashion internships.Expertise in differentiating the color spectrum.Experience with color approvals on different fabric mediumsKnowledge of basic fabric construction and technical properties.Working knowledge of printing and dying techniques.Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skills
