Join us as we grow and deliver PACCAR’s future in connectivity, cybersecurity, electrification, and autonomous systems.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop embedded software for next‑generation electronic control units using C++, MS Visual Studio, and/or MATLAB/Simulink based on defined software designs.Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects as assigned.Create, maintain, and execute test cases aligned with software requirements to validate integration of embedded software modules.Verify defect fixes and perform final integration testing prior to hardware‑in‑the‑loop or system‑level testing.Continuously assess testing effectiveness and recommend improvements by analyzing metrics and insights throughout the SDLC/STLC.Design and implement test automation frameworks, harnesses, and reusable code libraries to streamline testing across multiple projects.Develop automated test tools—including scripts, utilities, simulators, and data sets—to support robust and scalable test automation.Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and document findings to support defect resolution and quality improvements.Contribute to the creation and refinement of procedures, best practices, and standards that strengthen the reliability and quality of delivered software systems.RequiredQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.0-1 years of software testing experience.Strong willingness to learn and apply new software engineering quality processes, methodologies, and tools.Ability to analyze, interpret, and work with software requirement specifications.Effective team collaborator with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.Proficiency with common PC software tools (e.g., project management applications, word processing, flowchart/modeling tools, presentations, spreadsheets, databases).Growth‑oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a results‑driven environment.Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally.PreferredProficiency in scripting languages such as Python.Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, or similar industry‑related software development environments.Hands‑on experience with embedded software development using C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Kanzi, or IBM Rational Rhapsody.Experience working with:Test Management tools (e.g., HP Quality Center, IBM Rational QM)Test Automation tools/environments (e.g., dSPACE)Network and calibration tools (e.g., Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, ATI Vision)Requirements Management platformsEngineering knowledge of heavy‑duty commercial truck systems and related regulations.PACCAR Benefits401k with up to a 5% company matchFully funded pension plan that provides monthly benefits after retirementComprehensive PTO – minimum of 10 paid vacation days (additional days are provided with additional seniority/years of service), 12 paid holidays, and sick timeTuition reimbursement for continued educationMedical, dental, and vision plans for you and your familyFlexible spending account (FSA) and health account (HSA)Paid short-and-long-term disability programsLife and accidental death and dismemberment insuranceEAP services include wellness plans, estate planning, financial counseling and moreAdditional Job Board InformationAt PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this role is $67,800.00 - $101,700.00 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
