Psychiatrist III (Child Adolescent Program) Are you ready to be professionally challenged? Are you looking to be part of a dynamic team of engaged and committed professionals? The SHS is comprised of nine psychiatric hospitals located throughout the state, and one youth residential psychiatric center in Waco. The SHS is a hub of excellence for forensic mental health and complex psychiatric care, with all facilities accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospitals provide state-of-the-art treatment that is recovery-oriented and evidenced-based. Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan. The Staff Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluations, care and treatment to the patients at North Texas State Hospital. The Staff Psychiatrist is the clinical leader of a Treatment Team providing guidance to other treatment team members regarding the treatment of the patients in their care. Completion of duties requires complex decision making within the guidelines laid out in the data sources referenced herein. The Staff Psychiatrist functions under the sole supervision of the Chief Psychiatrist on their program. Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, plus three (3) years of work experience in the field of psychiatry. Meets all other criteria for employment and medical staff appointment, as appropriate. Thorough knowledge of medicine, general psychiatry and community psychiatry. Experience and ability to evaluate patients, set up and carry out an effective course of treatment. Skills in coordination of interdisciplinary team efforts in development, implementation and documentation of individualized care and treatment plans. Knowledge of the application of the Social Learning Diagnostic System.
