Maintenance Technician

Brief DescriptionDescriptionSummaryThe Maintenance Technician performs the preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for the manufacturing operations of the plant. Priorities include execution of PM schedules, repair of any equipment that is needed to maintain maximum production rates. This position generally requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required, and also fulfill on-call duties for repairs.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Practice proper PPE compliance, maintain a safe working record and environmentImmediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Maintenance Manager or Plant ManagerPractice proper forklift operationMaintain facility housekeepingMaintain and build job skills through company training programsTroubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properlyEnsure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working conditionDirect and ensure that all scheduled preventive maintenance duties are completed timelyCommunicate with all plant and support staffUnderstand and practice PLP core valuesJob SkillsThis position should possess the following skills/knowledge:Advanced industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic skills including troubleshootingUnderstanding of PLP manufacturing process including troubleshootingStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnelUnderstand purpose and proper use of small hand and power toolsStrong time management and task prioritization skillsAbility to troubleshoot simple and complex systemBasic computer skillsSelf-motivationEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentContinued education certifications, preferredIndustril Electrician License or CertificationPreferred Experience3-5 years of experience as line operator or similar training/experiencePlastic pipe extrusion and/or CNC machinePrevious maintenance experience in manufacturing industry
