Paid overtime may be available.JOB SUMMARYAs a Mechanical Engineer – Electrical Enclosures & Systems Design in Cypress, TX, you will:Serve as a core contributor to Systems Solutions design efforts, supporting strategic growth and customer‑focused engineering outcomesLead and coordinate medium‑scale mechanical engineering designs across a rapidly expanding business segmentDevelop new mechanical designs and provide expert guidance on existing projectsAct as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional teams, ensuring on‑time delivery and high‑value engineering solutionsDrive clarity, manufacturability, and ease‑of‑execution in all design recommendationsCollaborate closely with the Sr. ETO (Engineering-to-Order) Design Manager and engineering partners across the organizationOversee creation and release of drawings, analyses, test plans, and engineering documentationSelect appropriate mechanical components for project constructionCreate new parts and Bills of Material and load them into the ERP systemTrack, support, and report design changes throughout the project lifecycleProvide documentation support to application engineering, sales, and estimating teamsSupport manufacturing and production teams in resolving build challengesPrepare quote packages and recommend design improvements to enhance manufacturability and reduce costApply technical standards across reviews, documentation, and design workWork collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partnersContribute to projects that impact communities in Houston, Katy, Tomball, Spring, The Woodlands, Jersey Village, Hockley, Waller, and Magnolia, and the greater Houston, TX metroApply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovationQUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering requiredExperience with mechanical systems, including sheet metal enclosures, structural systems, and thermal managementBackground in small‑ to medium‑scale system design (electrical enclosures, panel layout, seismic considerations, heat management)Proficiency with major ERP and CAD systems (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)Working knowledge of ASME, NEMA, UL, IEC, and related mechanical engineering standardsSkilled in generating and reviewing engineering documentation (BOMs, drawings, tolerance stack‑ups, GD&T)Strong Microsoft Office proficiencyExcellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving skillsStrong written, verbal, and presentation communication abilitiesAbility to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environmentUnderstanding of structural and thermal analysis using FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar)SKILLS AND VALUESCapable of working independently and as a team memberStrong work ethic and unwavering integrityExcellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindsetCuriosity, problem-solving, and analytical thinkingEffective verbal and written communicationDesire to work on a variety of projectsADDITIONAL INFORMATIONPlease consider joining Applied's team of talented employees in Cypress, TX, and the greater Houston, TX metro area.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
