Architecture EngineerOnsiteLocation: Greenville, SC or Houston, TXPay rate: HourlyJob ID: 1000This is a full-time W2 position, with no subcontracting or C2C.Overview:The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge and leadership as described below. This position has oversight of a specific area and acts as a representative of the architectural discipline ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This is a lead position on assigned projects performing architectural assignments of advanced complexity.Responsibilities:Under general supervision of the Discipline Lead Architect, serve as an Area Lead providing guidance/supervision to other architects and designersAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of advanced complexity in accordance with project requirementsDevelop and review specifications and design criteriaPerform and check architectural analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment and systems; and solve technical problems of advanced complexityPrepare code studies, specifications, design and detailing for buildings of advanced complexityCoordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors and clientsExecute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and proceduresExecute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost and schedule baselinesDevelop and review estimates, schedules and progress reports including effort-hour estimating and staff forecastingEstablish, control and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecastsProvide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement and subcontracting including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations and review of vendor submittalsProvide technical support to activities associated with construction administration including response to construction requests-for-information and field changesOther duties as assignedQualifications:U.S. Citizenship requiredNAAB accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree and minimum ten (10) years of work-related experienceRegistered Architect licenseWorking knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders), state, and local codes and standardsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAdvanced knowledge of discipline codes and standardsDiscipline Specific Job Requirements:Proficiency in the use of 2D and 3D architectural design software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenBuildings, and SketchupAdvanced knowledge of:Building code analysis and applicationArchitectural specificationsBuilding planning and designDetailing of building envelopesDetailing of architectural materials and systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with design of systems, structures and components for nuclear facilities under the requirements of ASME NQA-1Advanced knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materialsDemonstrated experience managing and leading large projectsProficiency with project set-up, development of control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-outPractical field experienceNCARB certificationProficiency in the use of Autodesk Revit softwareEPC project experience for the following industries:U.S Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government AgencyNuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance programManufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotechnologyAdvance Knowledge of:Site master planningArchitectural programmingConceptual design of buildings and sitesRenderings and 3D visualizationSustainable site and building designAbout our Company:DataSoft Technologies is a highly recognized provider of professional IT Consulting services in the US.
