About the RoleJob Title: Senior HR Generalist, People OperationsLocation: Palo Alto, CA or Guilford, CT (Hybrid, 3-4 Days/Week)Hyperfine is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to serve as the primary owner of day-to-day HR operations and recruiting coordination across its workforce. This role is a critical execution partner to the Senior Director, HR and is responsible for ensuring that core people processes—recruiting logistics, onboarding and offboarding, HR administration, leave management, HR compliance operations, and employee support—run accurately, consistently, and in compliance with public‐company and regulated‐environment requirements. This is a hands‐on, execution‐focused role for someone who thrives in a dynamic and lean environment, brings strong operational judgment, and can independently manage multiple workstreams while knowing when to elevate.ResponsibilitiesRecruiting Coordination & Candidate ExperienceServe as the primary coordinator for recruiting activities, including interview scheduling across candidates, hiring managers, and interview panelsManage candidate communications, follow‐ups, and status updates to ensure a timely and professional experienceMaintain accurate and up‐to‐date candidate records in the ATSSupport resume screening and initial candidate reviews for select roles; assist with sourcing for priority roles as neededCoordinate offer logistics, background checks, and onboarding handoffEnsure a consistent, high‐quality candidate experience across assigned rolesEmployee Lifecycle Operations (Onboarding, Offboarding & HR Administration)Own onboarding and offboarding processes for employeesCoordinate new‐hire paperwork, system access, and orientation logistics with cross‐functional partnersEnsure smooth employee exits, including documentation, system updates, and handoff to Payroll & Benefits, IT, and other downstream teamsServe as a primary point of contact for employee HR questions and requestsSupport day‐to‐day HR administration, including job changes, promotions, transfers, and employee data updatesMaintain accurate employee lifecycle records and HR documentation across systemsLeave Administration, Compliance & RiskCoordinate and administer employee leaves of absence in partnership with the Senior Payroll & Benefits Manager and the third‐party leave vendor (Tilt)Serve as the operational liaison between employees, managers, Tilt, and internal stakeholdersEnsure leave administration is accurate, timely, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, including California and ConnecticutCommunicate clearly with employees and managers regarding leave processes, documentation, and timelinesTrack leave status and maintain complete and accurate recordsOwn operational execution of HR compliance processes, including:Employment eligibility verification (I‐9 processing and record‐keeping)Personnel file maintenance and retentionRequired employee documentation, notices, and trainingsSupport audit readiness and compliance efforts (e.g., SOX, HITRUST, SOC 2, FDA, and other regulatory audits, as applicable)Partner cross‐functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations to ensure employment‐related documentation is accurate and accessibleSupport public‐company HR internal controls related to people processesProactively identify and flag compliance, documentation, or process risks for escalationHR Programs, Employee Relations & Continuous ImprovementProvide operational support for HR programs and cycles, including performance management (system setup, tracking, communications, documentation, and follow‐up)Independently manage routine employee relations matters (e.g., attendance, conduct, policy interpretation), partnering with the Senior Director, People on complex, sensitive, or high‐risk issuesSupport Health & Safety and Workers' Compensation administrationContinuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of HR processesPrepare reports or presentations for People leadership as neededPerform other related duties and projects as assigned, including cross‐training on Payroll & Benefits processesMaintain working knowledge of current HR and People Operations trendsKnowledge and SkillStrong employee‐facing service mindset with experience in high‐volume or shared‐services HR environmentsProven ability to analyze issues, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive and confidential informationWorking knowledge of federal, state, and local employment lawsAbility to interpret, apply, and clearly communicate HR policies and proceduresClear and effective written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize competing responsibilitiesAbility to operate independently, take initiative, and balance speed with complianceDemonstrated ability to build trust and work effectively across all levels of the organizationStrong business acumen; This position is also eligible to participate in Hyperfine's corporate bonus and equity plans.
