Job Summary English Learner (EL) Services Provider 2026-2027 School Year Job Summary: Orange Beach City Schools is seeking a qualified English Learner (EL) Teacher to provide English language development services and ensure compliance with Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) and federal requirements. This position includes direct instruction, collaboration with staff, and oversight of English Learner plans and documentation to support student achievement and language acquisition. Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Student Support Provide direct English language development (ELD) instruction aligned to WIDA English Language Development StandardsDifferentiate instruction based on students' English proficiency levelsSupport academic language development across content areas through push-in and/or pull-out servicesMonitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data Consultation & Collaboration Collaborate with classroom teachers to support effective instructional strategies and accommodations for EL studentsAssist teachers in implementing scaffolding and language supports in core instructionParticipate in problem-solving teams (RTI/MTSS) and student support discussions EL Plans & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain Individual English Learner (EL) Plans in accordance with ALSDE guidelinesEnsure all required documentation is accurate, current, and audit-readyMaintain compliance with state and federal requirementsCoordinate and document required parent notifications in a language understandable to families Family & Community Engagement Communicate effectively with families of EL students, including those whose primary language is not EnglishServe as a liaison between the school and multilingual families as needed Program Support Monitoring of EL students in accordance with ALSDE proceduresSupport district EL program implementation and continuous improvement effortsProvide guidance and resources to staff regarding culturally and linguistically responsive practices Qualifications:Valid Alabama teaching certificateESL/EL certification or endorsement preferredProficiency in Spanish or Portuguese (spoken and written) requiredKnowledge of WIDA standards, language acquisition, and EL instructional strategiesUnderstanding of federal and state EL compliance requirementsStrong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with English Learners in a K-12 settingFamiliarity with EL data systems and progress monitoring tools Terms of Contract:Independent ContractorSchedule: Flexible schedule based on course offerings and student enrollment/needsContract Value: $25,000 - $39,000 based on degree and experienceContract Period: August 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027 Application Process Interested applicants should submit a resume and letter of interest to Orange Beach City Schools Special Services Director Kylie Burleson at kylie.burleson@obcityschools.org.
