Manufacturing Engineer Manager

Overall responsibility forenvironmental compliance of the Plant.Responsibilities Responsible for return on investments relating to the facility and equipment. Manages the plant capital budget (CAPEX) by proposing, justifying, and implementing improvements to processes, equipment, and plant layout. Solicits and negotiates bids from outside contractors. Supervises the completion of projects by outside contractors. Directs the supervision of the maintenance and manufacturing engineering functions. Participates in the selection ofpersonnel; also guides, counsels, directs, motivates, evaluates, etc. Recommends retention, promotability, and salaryactions. Ensures that employees are trained and attuned to current and future GDT objectives. Oversees direct reports. Ensures that subordinate supervisors are requiring safety compliance and any standardsthat apply. Investigates employee suggestions, concerns, etc. Evaluates and responds as appropriate. Ensures compliance with all mandated regulations, as well as GDT rules and regulations. Reviews proposed disciplinary actions. Ensures completeness, fairness, consistency, and overall company interest. Ensures compliance with all environmental regulations. Arranges compliance inspections with insurance providersand regulatory personnel. Initiates action on recommendations and deficiencies. Establishes the parameters and procedures for the standard hours program and ensures accuracy of establishedstandards. Manages budget and semi-variable expenses related to manufacturing engineering and maintenance. Other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Education: A bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering with 8+ years of experience or the equivalentcombination of experience and/or education is required for this position. Skills:Basic knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical systemsAsset justificationIndustrial engineering skills such as work measurement, labor reporting and plant layoutUnderstanding of building and maintenance contracts including liability issuesBasic knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processesComputer skills including MS Office and AutoCADAnalytical analysis and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and organization skillsUnderstanding of compliance regulations and codes Travel: Occasional, 10% - 15%.
