OPEN TO CANDIDATES BASED IN THE NORTH AMERICA & EUROPE REGION.Must overlap with Pacific Timezone.Role OverviewJoin our team as a Java/Spring Boot Performance Engineer, where you will focus on optimizing and enhancing the performance of our systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring efficient concurrency, resource management, and network management within a distributed environment. We are looking for a professional who can drive improvements in application performance and security.ResponsibilitiesOptimize Java/Spring Boot applications focusing on concurrency, blocking calls, virtual threads, schedulers, and resource management.Enhance performance in AWS/EKS environments, utilizing tools such as Kubernetes, Karpenter, HPA, Argo CD, and Helm for effective networking, scaling, and observability.Improve PostgreSQL/JPA performance through query optimization, indexing, N+1 elimination, connection pooling, and transaction tuning.Optimize Angular/Mapbox applications for large-data rendering, GeoJSON/clustering, lazy loading, and browser performance.Develop and maintain distributed systems utilizing SQS for asynchronous processing, worker patterns, retries, DLQs, and distributed locking.Engage in SNMP/network-management development by handling polling, traps, OIDs/MIBs, timeouts, retries, and device communications.Conduct observability and performance testing using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and tools like k6, Gatling, or JMeter.Implement application security measures focusing on secrets management, RBAC/authorization, tenant isolation, credential handling, secure logging, and adhering to OWASP standards.Required SkillsStrong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot with a focus on performance engineering.Experience with AWS and EKS, including Kubernetes and related tools such as Karpenter and Helm.In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL/JPA for database performance optimization.Proficiency in Angular and Mapbox for front-end performance improvements.Expertise in distributed systems and messaging patterns.Familiarity with SNMP and network management protocols.Competence in observability tools and performance testing frameworks.Solid understanding of application security best practices.Nice to HaveExperience working with US-based teams or organizations.Familiarity with US regulatory standards and compliance.
