Please do not contact the school directly.Position ObjectiveWorking closely with the members of the Business Office, the primary focus of the Associate Director of Business Operations entails management of the general ledger, processing payroll, and supporting benefits administration. This position also works closely with the Director of Strategic Finance in generating and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as supporting the annual budget process and the annual independent audit of financials and the retirement plan. This position manages the work of the Business Operations Associate.Qualifying CharacteristicsA Bachelor’s degree in business with accounting concentration preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numerical dataExcellent organization and communication skills with attention to detailProficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, strong skills in Word, and highly skilled in the use of ExcelMust be skilled in the use of Financial Edge NXT, or commensurate accounting softwareA minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting management or controllership role is requiredDemonstrated ability to initiate and complete multiple tasks on time in a fast-paced environmentStrong ability to work collegially with the Administration and FacultyWork experience in an independent school, college, and/or non-profit setting preferredEssential Job DutiesUphold the School’s Mission, Vision, and Values as well as all policies and procedures required for non-profit independent schoolsParticipate in all required professional development for faculty and staff, supporting the educational mission and philosophy of the schoolAccounting/FinanceManage general ledger through the monthly close schedule, to include (but not limited to):Bank and investment account reconciliationsPosting to SubledgersReconciliation of FACTS to GLDeferred revenue allocationContribution reconciliations with DevelopmentReconciliation of AvidXchange to GLPayroll entry and reconciliation to PaycomRestricted Fund rollforward (quarterly)Finalize the trial balance each month for reportingParticipate in Financial statement preparation and analysis, including assistance with Finance Committee reportsIn conjunction with the Director of Strategic Finance, manage annual independent financial and retirement plan audit requests, and assist with the preparation and review of the 990 annual information filingSupervise and manage the work of the Business Operations Associate to:Ensure timely accounts payable process each weekEnsure a timely student billing process and collectionsEnsure all other deposits, billings, and disbursements are recorded and handled promptly and accurately.Ensure school credit card transactions are documented, coded, and entered to the general ledger in a timely manner.Support the maintenance of capital asset recordsAssist with monthly bank reconciliationsPopulate annual DASL/NBOA and CalISBOA survey data each yearHow to ApplyThe Riviera Ridge School has engaged DovetailED to lead this search.
