About the Employer Founded in the 1880s as a one-room schoolhouse located in historic Columbia State Park, Columbia Union School District (CUSD) is a one-school elementary district serving about 500 students in grades kindergarten through eight. Located two miles north of Sonora in the gold country of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, Columbia Elementary School relocated in-1936 when a new school building was constructed on Parrotts Ferry Road. Over the years the campus has expanded to meet the needs of the growing district. In 2007, the district completed the construction of 19 state-of-the-art classrooms and an Education, Sports, and Performing Arts Complex. Columbia Elementary focuses on the success of the whole child. Job Summary Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, and with supervision from appropriately credentialed personnel such as a BCBA, BCaBA, school psychologist, or other qualified supervisor, the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral, social-emotional, and instructional support to students across special education and inclusive school settings. The RBT implements behavior support plans, collects and maintains data, supports the development of student self-regulation and prosocial skills, and helps build staff capacity to create safe, predictable, and supportive learning environments. In addition to working directly with identified students, the RBT serves as a collaborative support across classrooms, structured and unstructured settings, and special education programming to improve student access, engagement, and success throughout the school day.
