Machine Operator – Manufacturing *Location:* San Diego, CA *Pay Rate:* $19.50/hr *Shift:* 1st Shift — 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM *Overtime:* Available based on business needs Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented *Machine Operator* to operate manufacturing equipment according to established specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Machine Operator will monitor equipment performance, maintain accurate production records, support preventative maintenance activities, and ensure products meet established quality standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, follows procedures carefully, takes ownership of product quality, and is willing to learn multiple pieces of equipment and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities * Operate manufacturing and production equipment according to established *specifications, SOPs, and work instructions*. * Monitor equipment functions and performance to ensure machinery operates safely and effectively throughout production. * Maintain accurate *equipment operational logbooks* and production documentation. * Observe raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products before, during, and after production to verify quality requirements are met. * Promptly communicate equipment abnormalities or potential failures to technicians and provide detailed information regarding symptoms and operating conditions. * Assist technicians with *Preventative Maintenance (PM)* activities by following established procedures and work instructions. * Support *material handling* activities as needed, including movement and organization of production materials and components. * Maintain proper *segregation of materials*, including lot numbers, receiving numbers, and other required identification information. * Maintain accurate records of *work-in-process, component inventories, production activities, and related documentation*. * Follow all applicable *Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Device History Record (DHR) requirements, hazard communication procedures, and safety rules*. * Utilize written procedures, training materials, and hands-on instruction to safely and accurately complete assigned tasks. * Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly manufacturing work area in accordance with company standards. * Take full accountability for *product quality* and immediately identify and communicate potential quality concerns. * Report unresolved equipment, production, material, or quality issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor or management. * Demonstrate steady progress in learning *multiple pieces of equipment, manufacturing processes, and jobs* within the assigned production area. * Follow supervisor instructions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and accurate documentation. Qualifications * Previous *machine operator, manufacturing operator, production operator, or equipment operation* experience preferred. * Ability to learn and operate multiple types of manufacturing equipment. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to *product quality*. * Ability to read, understand, and follow *SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and written documentation*. * Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize unusual equipment conditions or performance. * Ability to accurately complete *logbooks, production records, inventory records, and other manufacturing documentation*. * Previous experience in a *GMP, medical device, pharmaceutical, regulated manufacturing, or similar production environment* is a plus. * Ability to communicate equipment, production, and quality concerns clearly to supervisors, technicians, and other team members. * Ability to work independently while following established procedures and supervisory direction. * Must be willing to learn new equipment and processes and demonstrate consistent progress during training. Work Environment * Manufacturing/production environment requiring adherence to established *GMP, safety, quality, and documentation requirements*. * Requires regular interaction with Manufacturing Supervisors, technicians, and other production personnel. * Must maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all required PPE and safety procedures. * Overtime may be required based on business needs.
