Our mantra of "We are one team" is lived by every employee, every day.About the RoleThe Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities, and ensuring the smooth function of the purchasing department, including vendor sourcing, supplier negotiation, and meeting goals for costs and delivery timelines. This role will involve collaboration with various departments, including supply chain and vendor management, to enhance operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the development and implementation of a continuous improvement methodology for the procurement, inventory and transportation/logistics departmentsNegotiate term and one-off procurement agreements with suppliers and sub-contractors.Assist in the development and implementation of a regular reporting process for each of the purchasing, inventory and transportation/logistics departmentsNegotiate and secure long term supplier agreements, maintain and manage existing supplier relationshipsPurchase of direct materials, with consideration to timing of workflow and according to customer-provided drawings/specificationsTrack costs on a frequent basis and provide Project Managers with updates for costs-to-date vs budgetExpediting orders to ensure timely deliveriesSource new vendors for high usage materials/consumable.Ensures that vendors selected are reputable and provide quality products in accordance with the Company’s quality policies to manage all purchasing needs as per the company’s requirements. QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years Purchase Manager experience, managing minimum of 3 employees. Required SkillsStrong understanding of vendor management practices and principles.Strong analytical skills for detail in pricing and market analysis.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.Proficiency in VISUAL SAP or similar procurement systems is preferred.Familiarity with fabrication processes/custom manufacturing (BTO) is an asset.
