We are expanding our Supply Chain team and seeking a skilled Transportation Operations Technician with material handling experience to support our logistics operations across multiple sites. The Vehicle Operations Technician will be the primary touch point for internal and organic shipment and distribution movements and will report to the Transportation Manager.If you have expertise in logistics operations and vehicle management, we encourage you to apply!Key Responsibilities Vehicle Operations & Maintenance:Operate various vehicles including trucks, forklifts and heavy equipment Perform safe loading, unloading and transportation of materials and equipmentEnsure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standardsMaintain accurate logs using electronic logging devices (ELDs)Assist in planning and optimizing routes for efficient deliveries.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all vehiclesDiagnose basic repairs and routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections and tire checks as neededReport more complex mechanical issues to fleet and transportation managementEnsure all vehicles are in good working condition and meet safety standardsSafety & ComplianceAdhere to all company policies, safety standards and regulatory requirementsProperly secure loads using appropriate equipment (chains, binders, straps, etc.)Handle hazardous materials safely and reviews necessary documentation for accuracyMaintain a clean driving record and pass regular background checks and drug screeningsMaterial HandlingOperate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacksAssist in warehouse operations including receiving, storage and distribution of materialsSupport accurate inventory counts and maintain inventory recordsEnsure proper organization and cleanliness of storage areasQualificationsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredValid CDL Class A license requiredCurrent DOT medical cardMinimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle operation and maintenanceExperience with heavy equipment operation and transportationFamiliarity with material handling and warehouse operationsForklift certification (or ability to obtain)Hazardous materials handling certification (preferred)Technical SkillsProficiency in using ELDs and basic computer skillsStrong understanding of DOT regulations and safety proceduresBasic vehicle mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilityExcellent team dynamics, time management and communication skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs regularly)Capable of sitting for extended periods while drivingAble to climb, bend and reach as required for vehicle operation and maintenanceJob Posted by ApplicantPro
