Lead Software Engineer Developer - DevSecOps
Overview:
In this role you will lead DevSecOps and software engineering across the full lifecycle for mission systems and training software. You will architect secure, automated pipelines that improve quality and delivery speed while strengthening cyber resilience. You will collaborate with software, cybersecurity, test, and IT teams to implement secure delivery and sustainment practices in a high-stakes aerospace environment. This position offers impact-through modernization of build, release, and automation processes with a strong focus on security and observability. You'll work onsite with the SPD AAS team to advance P-8A mission capabilities. Responsibilities:
- Lead DevSecOps activities across build, test, deployment, and sustainment workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, secure, and validate software solutions
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security checks
- Incorporate security automation (SAST, SCA, container scanning) throughout the lifecycle
- Develop and maintain software architectures, interfaces, and designs
- Automate builds, packaging, environment provisioning, test execution, and release processes
- Support Infrastructure as Code and environment automation to improve repeatability
- Drive secure coding practices, quality gates, and release readiness criteria
- Coordinate with cybersecurity and compliance stakeholders to align with standards
- Troubleshoot issues across development, test, and production environments
- Enhance observability with logging, monitoring, and alerting
- Mentor team members on DevSecOps practices and secure delivery
- Contribute to Agile processes (sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews) and use JiraLead modernization of legacy build/release processes into automated, secure workflows
Key requirements:
- Bachelor's DegreeActive Top Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)9+ years' experience with engineering development lifecycle tasks 4+ years' experience with DevSecOps practices (e.g., Ansible, cyber applications)
