As part of our strategic growth, ForwardNow is expanding its in‑bond capabilities and laying the foundation for licensed U.S. customs brokerage services. We are seeking an Import Specialist with customs entry experience who is ready to grow into a key role supporting in‑bond movements and future brokerage operations.Position SummaryThe Import & In‑Bond Specialist is responsible for managing U.S. import shipments by air and ocean, with a strong focus on customs entry coordination, in‑bond movements (IT, T&E, IE), and regulatory compliance. This role requires 2–3 years of customs entry experience and a demonstrated willingness to study for, sit for, and pass the U.S. Customs Broker License Exam.This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented logistics professional who wants to play a hands‑on role in building ForwardNow’s in‑bond and customs brokerage infrastructure and grow into a licensed customs professional.Key ResponsibilitiesImport Operations & In‑Bond Execution· Manage the importation of goods by air and ocean, ensuring timely customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.· Support and coordinate in‑bond movements (IT, T&E, IE)· Coordinate with bonded carriers, trucking companies, origin agents, and customs brokers to ensure in‑bond compliance and on‑time execution.· Track shipments from origin through final clearance or in‑bond delivery and provide proactive status updates to customers.Customs Documentation & Compliance· Prepare, review, and submit required documentation for customs clearance and in‑bond processing· Ensure adherence to all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, trade laws, and government agency requirements.· Assist with ISF coordination and other pre‑arrival compliance steps as required.Brokerage Development & Risk Management· Work closely with management to support the development of ForwardNow’s future customs brokerage operations.· Identify compliance risks and operational gaps related to import and in‑bond shipments and recommend process improvements.· Maintain accurate shipment records and audit trails to support CBP compliance and internal controls.Financial & Operational Controls· Audit carrier, broker, and vendor invoices for accuracy, confirming contract rates and validating storage, demurrage, and detention charges.· Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to resolve discrepancies and delayed payments.· Identify cost‑saving opportunities while ensuring compliant and secure cargo movement.Rates, Coordination & Team Support· Assist with carrier rate management, including updating rates, requesting quotes for new trade lanes, and supporting carrier contract administration.· Maintain professional relationships with customers, overseas agents, vendors, airlines, steamship lines, and colleagues.· Provide backup operational support to other logistics and import team members as needed.Qualifications & RequirementsRequired· 2–3 years of experience in import operations with direct exposure to customs entry processing (air and ocean).· Practical understanding of U.S. customs regulations, import documentation, and in‑bond fundamentals.· Experience working with licensed customs brokers and bonded carriers.· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required) and logistics systems.Preferred· Experience supporting or coordinating in‑bond shipments (IT, T&E, IE).· Familiarity with ACE, ISF filings, CBP compliance workflows, or customs software.· Degree or coursework in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.Professional Development & Licensing Path· Willingness and commitment to study for, sit for, and pass the U.S. Customs Broker License Exam is required.· ForwardNow actively supports long‑term career development aligned with in‑bond operations and licensed customs brokerage growth.What We Offer· Competitive salary based on experience· Medical, dental, and vision insurance· Paid time off and paid holidays· Stable, growth‑oriented work environment· Opportunity to become a foundational contributor to ForwardNow’s brokerage expansion
