Mechanical Assembler
The purpose of this position is to provide support performing mechanical assembly of in a manufacturing shop. This specific position is to support installation of weld studs, utilizing a weld stud machine to melt studs to steel plates
We work a 9/80 schedule, working 9 hours a day, with every other Friday off for a total of 80 hours every 2 weeks. Our hours are from 6:30AM to 4:00PM Monday through Thursday, and every other Friday the schedule is 6:30AM to 3:00PM.
Responsibilities include:
Complying with requirements per drawings and work order documentation
Independently and accurately work using mechanical drawings and work orders
Performing complex mechanical assembly of products, including but not limited to containers, shelters, fabricated sheet metal assemblies, and subassembly of components
Performing quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency with documentation
Abiding by safety regulations
Providing tool maintenance
Maintaining a clean work area and achieving general facility cleanliness goals (FOD prevention)
Complying with processes and procedures
Perform other various duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge in measuring, installing, adjusting, drilling, riveting, and bolting materials
Process-oriented disposition and mentality (a commitment to following procedures, instructions, and rules)
Experience and/or interest in technical or mechanical disciplines
Well spoken and written English language skills
Strong organizational skills
Problem solving skills
2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical experience and aptitude
Able to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
Ability to understand direction and expectations of daily goals
Able to read and interpret documents such as design drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Demands
The special physical demands required to perform the described responsibilities include the following safely and successfully: sitting, standing, speaking, listening, walking including stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 50 pounds, ascend, descend, work atop, traverse, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, crawling, close spaces, color determination, near acuity, lifting.
