Software Engineer
Overview:
In this role you will design, build, and maintain scalable web applications across the stack. You will collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to ship features end-to-end in an agile environment. You drive performance, reliability, and secure software delivery through automated testing and CI/CD practices. You will mentor teammates, contribute to architecture decisions, and ensure maintainability. Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails and/or Python
- Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and ship features end-to-end
- Write automated tests and maintain coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and share best practices
- Own deployment pipelines and contribute to CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response
- Optimize performance and scalability, including database queries and caching
- Document architecture, design decisions, and runbooks
- Ensure security, privacy, and compliance considerations are integrated into the lifecycle
Key requirements:
- 5+ years as a Software Engineer
- Proven experience with Ruby on Rails and building RESTful APIsStrong JavaScript skills with modern frameworks
- Experience with Python for backend services, scripts, or automation
- Relational and NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization
- Familiarity with testing frameworks, TDD practices, and automated testing tools
- Experience with CI/CD tooling, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Proficient with Git, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows
