Contract-to-Hire | On-SiteOverviewWe're partnering with an engineering-driven organization seeking an experienced professional to support complex industrial projects from concept through execution. This role plays a critical part in translating engineering direction into clear, build-ready design packages, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, coordination, and real-world constructability. The right individual brings a practical mindset, solid technical foundation, and the ability to anticipate challenges before they reach the field.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Package Development: Create and refine detailed deliverables including wiring diagrams, loop drawings, panel layouts, and conduit/cable schedulesDrawing Interpretation: Translate P&IDs, layout drawings, and specifications into precise, executable designsCross-Functional Coordination: Partner with engineering, project teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment between design intent and installation requirementsRevisions & Documentation: Manage drawing updates, redlines, and BOM changes while maintaining strict version controlCode-Compliant Routing: Design conduit and cable layouts in accordance with applicable electrical codes, factoring in installation feasibilityInstrumentation Support: Assist with device selection, tagging structures, and standardization effortsStandards & Libraries: Maintain drawing templates, libraries, and reusable design componentsCommunication: Clearly relay design updates and changes across internal teams and third partiesProblem Solving: Contribute to design reviews and help resolve fabrication or field installation challengesDocument Control: Support organized storage and management of drawings and project documentationContinuous Improvement: Help evolve internal design standards and best practicesQualificationsExperience: Minimum 5 years of design experience within industrial, manufacturing, or energy-related environmentsEducation: Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in drafting/designDesign Tools: Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CADWorx, or similar platforms (flexible depending on background)Electrical Design Knowledge: Familiarity with instrumentation symbols, wiring practices, and control system layoutsCodes & Standards: Working knowledge of NEC guidelines and general industrial electrical practicesTechnical Capability: Ability to produce panel layouts, termination details, and I/O schematicsCommunication: Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams including field personnel and vendorsWork Style: Organized, detail-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneouslyPreferred Background (Not Required)Exposure to electrical design platforms such as EPLANExperience supporting process-based or heavy industrial facilitiesFamiliarity with structured quality systems or standardized workflowsNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.Nesco Resource provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
