Calibration Technician Location: DFW Airport, TX 75261 | Onsite Compensation & Schedule • $27 • Full-time • Non-Exempt (Hourly) Role Impact The Calibration Technician ensures electronic test and measurement equipment is accurate, fully functional, and delivered on time to support high-technology industries such as 5G (fifth-generation wireless), IoT (Internet of Things), aerospace, telecommunications, and defense. Success in this role means maintaining calibration traceability, minimizing turnaround time, and upholding quality standards that directly impact customer operations and compliance. Key Duties • Calibrate electronic test and measurement equipment using manual and automated procedures in accordance with established standards. • Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair using manufacturer manuals and documented test procedures. • Upgrade firmware and verify proper system functionality. • Document all service actions in the computerized inventory management system (CMMS / asset tracking database). • Maintain a clean, organized lab environment using 6S principles (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • 1–2 years of experience in an electronics calibration, metrology, or test equipment environment (Military PMEL training acceptable). • Working knowledge of electronic test equipment including general purpose, RF (radio frequency), telecom, oscilloscopes, and optical instruments. Equipment & Work Environment • Electronic test and measurement instruments (RF analyzers, oscilloscopes, telecom and optical test sets). • Computerized inventory and calibration management systems. • Standing or sitting for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, and lifting equipment. • Overtime as needed; occasional on-call rotation and short business travel. Preferred Skills • Introductory to advanced understanding of metrology principles including uncertainty, transfer standards, and measurement conversions. • Experience creating calibration documentation using Excel or supported calibration software. • Strong teamwork, customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
