Lead Developer, Data Platform (Python / Databricks / AWS)Engagement Type: Contract-to-HireLocation: Boston, MA or Stamford, CT strongly preferredOnsite 4 days per week per corporate policy. EST hours required.About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on developer with a path toward technical leadership and management to join a data platform team supporting performance attribution, research, data onboarding, and data transformation work built on a proprietary methodology. This is not a day-one management role. The expectation is a hands-on technical lead who guides developers on architecture and grows into a Lead Manager role.What You Will DoServe as a hands-on technical lead, guiding developers on architecture and implementation decisions, including how to evaluate and experiment with new platform features (for example, Databricks capabilities)Implement and support data pipelines for performance attribution, research, data onboarding, and transformation workloadsSupport data delivery and integration patterns including API, S3, and Delta SharingSupport report generation workflows leveraging FactSetAdvise on on-premises enhancements where needed, in addition to cloud workWork as part of a Scrum team, collaborating daily with contractors based in both India and the USRequired Skills and ExperienceStrong hands-on Python (majority of the codebase), plus SQLSpark and Databricks experienceAWS cloud environment experience, including other cloud componentsProven experience implementing data pipelines, not just understanding the technologyAbility to operate as a technical lead within a Scrum team and grow into a Lead Manager roleLocated in or able to work onsite 4 days per week in Boston or StamfordPreferred / Strong PlusesSome Java experienceData domain knowledge on the asset management side of the business: market data, security data, holdings dataGeneral fixed income knowledge: understanding of holdings, major security identifiers, and assets by asset classExposure to FactSet and Delta SharingBenefits (W2)Health insuranceHealth savings accountDental insuranceVision insuranceFlexible spending accountsLife insuranceRetirement planEEO StatementAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
