The Herbicide Spray Technician must be licensed in one of the following: aquatic pest control, forestry pest control, natural areas weed management, ornamental and turf pest control, and/or right-of-way pest control. Technicians must be experienced with the procurement, mixing, and herbicide selection for targeted species. The primary invasive plant species involved in this work include Brazilian pepper, Cogon grass, Australian pine, Chaste tree/Vitex, Old World Climbing fern, Lead tree, Mimosa, Rosary pea, Wedelia, and Castor bean. The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $27.93 per hour for up to 40 hours per week. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $23.00 plus $4.93 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. The above range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Responsibilities include:Select appropriate herbicide and communicate herbicide needs to procurement Safely mix herbicide Visually identify invasive vegetation Treat invasive vegetation with herbicides Complete daily herbicide logs Perform weekly material inventories Travel Requirements 0 - 10% Job Requirements High school diploma or GED is preferred Current Florida license as Herbicide Spray Technician Ability to pass background check to access DoD Facilities (Air Force Stations) Ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) Ability to operate GPS handheld units Ability to lift 25lbs or greater Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
