Full-Time | On-SiteAbout KidlavieKidlavie is a vibrant indoor family entertainment center and café offering fresh food, fun experiences, and a safe play space for children and families.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and reliable high energy Head Chef capable of running a full-service kitchen who will help elevate and separate our food and dining experience from all other entertainment centers.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, supporting and directing the cooks and dishwasher, managing expo, producing high quality food to spec with decent ticket times, ensuring the kitchen meets health and safety standards, time and temp logs, inventory and ordering. You will also be in control of managing food waste/labor costs.Key Responsibilities??? Culinary OperationsPrepare and cook menu items to Kidlavie standardsMaintain food quality, taste consistency, and presentationEnsure proper portioning and recipe executionOversee food prep, storage, and labelingManage kitchen opening & closing proceduresMaintain inventory levels and inform management of needsKitchen Safety & CleanlinessMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchenEnsure compliance with local health codes and DOH standardsFollow safe food handling, temperature logs, and storage rulesMonitor equipment and coordinate repairs when neededEnforce daily cleaning checklists for all kitchen stationsTeam CollaborationWork closely with the Restaurant & Park ManagerSupervise line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen assistantsTrain new staff on recipes, standards, and safetyMaintain positive, efficient communication with front-of-house staffSupport a friendly, family-oriented environment in the restaurantCustomer Experience SupportEnsure food is served fresh, accurate, and on timeAssist with high-volume periods and party ordersSupport special menu items for holidays, events, or partiesRequirementsProven experience as a Chef, Line Cook, or Kitchen LeadStrong culinary knowledge and cooking techniquesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentUnderstanding of kitchen safety and food sanitationExcellent time management and organizationMust be available on weekendsPreferred QualificationsServsafe Food Handler or Food Manager certification (preferred)Experience in family dining, quick service, or cafe-style kitchensAbility to support menu developmentEmployee Benefits (What You'll Get)Free Park Tickets for family members on approved datesEmployee Discounts on mealsFree Training & Certification Programs, including food safety coursesOpportunities for advancement as Kidlavie growsA supportive, fun, and fast-paced work environment inside a family-oriented venueFlexible scheduling & competitive pay
