Security Supervisor - HF Safety
JOB DESCRIPTION Job Requirements POSITION SUMMARY To be fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship by ensuring professional operation of security services for the safety and security of associates, patients and visitors of Health First facilities. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES Provides positive leadership through purposeful rounding to give recognition and feedback, identify issues, remove barriers and address concerns. Promotes positive working relationships among all departments within Health First hospitals and other Health First entities to ensure customer delight; promptly addresses and resolves any issues with all customers. Interviews, selects, onboards and conducts development and performance reviews of direct reports. Ensures all direct reports comply with training expectations and meet all annual requirements within designated time frame. Models' professionalism and Health First I-CARE values in all customer and associate interactions and ensures direct reports do the same. Ensures timely communication of IDN and hospital operational updates, department metrics and daily huddle announcements. Responsible for timekeeping, scheduling and assigning personnel to ensure safe, adequate and appropriate staffing across all assigned locations. Compiles bi-weekly payroll report to ensure accurate distribution of regular hours, overtime, PTO and shift differentials. Inspects Security Officer State of Florida required credentials prior to every shift and ensures all weapons are checked in and properly secured at the end of every shift. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed by department management. Maintains required certifications, licensing, weapon qualifications, and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position. Work Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of Policy Academy. Associate's degree in Criminal Justice. Career Military. Work Experience: Two (2) years' experience as security officer lead and/or supervisory experience. One (1) year: Law enforcement. Elite Military Forces. Military Police. Combat Arms Professional. Licensure: Class "D" Security Officer Licensure in the State of Florida. Class "G" Security Officer Licensure in the State of Florida. Valid Driver's License and clean Motor Vehicle Record and maintained. Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card within thirty (30) days of start date and maintained. Work Experience in Lieu of Education: Two (2) years' experience as a security officer. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Expected completion of Crisis Prevention Training within first 90 days. Ability to engage and supervise independently working staff. Ability to clearly direct, instruct and effectively share feedback. Physical ability to deal with or subdue mental health patients in crisis. Must be willing to carry out tasks that may require entering the hospital morgue and the roof-top helipad. Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors. Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public. Effective oral and written communication skills. Active listening skills. Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively. Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately. Attention to detail. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently. May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead. May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise. May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined. May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
