All certifications achieved belong to the team member and are valid for two years.Discounted/free employee participation in select City events (Memorial Golf Tournament, Dublin Irish Festival, etc.)Uniforms providedCareer mapping and growth opportunitiesExamples of DutiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Utilization of flexible teaching approaches that are adaptable to the age, experience and ability of participants to meet lesson objectivesProvide safe and competent instruction for all participantsTeach with encouragement and positive reinforcementBegin and end all lessons on timeReturn all materials to their proper place at the conclusion of classMaintenance of class/participant records with updates made at the conclusion of every lessonAbility to communicate appropriately and professionally with participants and parentsTypical QualificationsMinimum QualificationsMust be at least 16 years of ageCurrent certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)Current certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hireMust complete annual BCII Fingerprint Background Checks (the cost of this is covered by the City)Preferred Qualifications* Availability to work year-round and during the day on weekdays* Current certification in American Red Cross LifeguardingSupplemental Information: All positions within this job classification have been designated as Casual in nature and all employees serving in such positions are considered to be Casual Employees.
