Assistant Camp Director

Assistant Camp Director Location: TBK Bank Sports Complex The Assistant Camp Director will play a vital role in the successful operation of our camp programs. This position involves organizing daily camp schedules for kids k-8th grade, leading training for counselors, and ensuring effective communication with parents and staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and passionate about creating a positive camp experience for children. This role offers a full-time schedule during active camp sessions: Summer Camp: Approximately 11–12 weeks Key Responsibilities: Organize and manage daily camp schedules to ensure smooth operations. Assist in leading training sessions for camp counselors to enhance their skills and effectiveness. Participate in the interview process and assist in hiring qualified counselors. Communicate effectively with parents and counselors regarding any issues or concerns. Make informed decisions about when to contact parents regarding camper issues. Handle situations involving sick campers and ensure proper cleanup and care. Lead and support camp counselors in their daily activities and responsibilities. Collaborate with other departments within the facility to ensure schedules align and run smoothly. Open and set up the concession stand for snack times and lunch, ensuring a welcoming environment. Retrieve and distribute snacks and lunches, coordinating with kitchen staff for special dietary needs. Manage the check-in and check-out process for campers to ensure safety and accountability. Develop and implement engaging activities for campers, including sports games, crafts, and coloring. Requirements: Previous experience in camp management or a related field is preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Passion for working with children and creating a positive camp environment. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus. Must be able to pass a background check.
