Assistant Project ManagerLocation: Los Angeles, CaliforniaCompany: Pegasus DevelopmentPosition SummaryPegasus Development is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a high-profile experiential interior construction project in Los Angeles. This is an owner-side, client-facing field role. The successful candidate will serve as the day-to-day site representative for the client, reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager, and will be responsible for construction progress monitoring, field coordination, documentation, and issue tracking throughout project execution.This position is best suited for a candidate with strong construction fundamentals, solid drawing literacy, and the ability to coordinate effectively with the ownership team, general contractor, subcontractors, design consultants, and specialty vendors. Candidates with experience in experiential environments, high-finish interiors, museum or exhibit installations, branded environments, themed entertainment, or hospitality interiors are strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary day-to-day on-site representative for the client and ownership teamReport directly to the Senior Project Manager and provide routine field updates on project status, schedule performance, quality, and key risk itemsMonitor construction progress against project milestones, look-ahead schedules, and critical path activitiesAttend and participate in owner, architect, contractor, and field coordination meetingsMaintain site reports, photo documentation, issue logs, and progress summaries for internal and client distributionReview construction drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and related project documentation to understand scope, sequencing, and design intentAssist in reviewing and tracking RFIs, submittals, change events, punch items, and closeout deliverablesCoordinate with the general contractor, subcontractors, consultants, and specialty vendors to support efficient field executionTrack open field issues and help drive timely resolution through clear communication and disciplined follow-upMonitor installation of high-finish interior scopes and custom elements to confirm alignment with the contract documents and owner expectationsSupport coordination of specialty fabricators, exhibit vendors, millwork contractors, lighting vendors, graphics installers, and other non-traditional trades as requiredAssist in tracking long-lead materials, off-site fabrication progress, delivery sequencing, and installation readinessEscalate schedule risks, coordination gaps, quality concerns, and scope issues to the Senior Project Manager in a timely mannerSupport punch, turnover, and project closeout activities in a detail-intensive environmentQualifications3 to 7 years of relevant experience in construction management, owner representation, project management, or field coordinationStrong working knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and site coordination practicesAbility to read and interpret architectural, consultant, and construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentationExperience working on active construction sites and participating in regular project meetings and coordination effortsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with clients, contractors, and consultantsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneouslyStrong judgment, accountability, and follow-through in a fast-moving field environmentBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferredPreferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in one or more of the following project types will be strongly favored:Experiential or immersive environmentsMuseum or exhibit installationsThemed entertainment or branded spacesHospitality interiorsHigh-finish commercial interiorsCustom fabrication and specialty vendor coordinationArchitectural millwork, decorative finishes, specialty lighting, graphics, scenic elements, or AV-integrated environmentsFast-track interior fit-outs with overlapping trades and dense sequencing requirementsTechnical SkillsProficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and standard construction reporting toolsWorking knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6 preferredFamiliarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM-based coordination workflows is a plusProfessional ProfileThe ideal candidate will bring a combination of field presence, technical competence, and stakeholder management capability.
