Material Handler

As a Material Handler at Coremark Metals, you will play an essential role in picking/preparing materials while providing excellent customer service. We require no previous experience in the industry; just people who are passionate and ready to learn new skills.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
PAY: $21.00-$22.00/hour, commensurate with experience
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet each customer and assist by answering questions, providing guidance, and establishing rapport
Locate, pull, and prepare metal materials as indicated on pick lists
Ensure quality control by verifying piece counts, material grades, and dimensions
Operate saws, torches, and other equipment to process material to customer specifications
Operate and drive forklifts and control movements of the lifting apparatus
Load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, trucks, and customer vehicles
Stock inventory ensuring proper locations and piece counts
Follow Coremark Metals safety policies and procedures
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Ability to multi-task, be attentive, and flexible
Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of supervisor
Strong understanding of measuring devices such as calipers, tape measures, and scales
Ability to maneuver and manipulate materials both manually and with the use of overhead crane by bending, twisting, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 75lbs. occasionally
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Aptitude in industrial machinery and equipment
Forklift experience
