PPC Manager (Freelancer)
OverviewWe are looking for an experienced, data-driven PPC Manager to join our growing performance marketing team. You'll be responsible for managing paid media campaigns across multiple UK eCommerce & B2B accounts, ensuring our clients achieve their performance goals through strategic planning, implementation, optimisation, and reporting.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, is commercially astute, and has a proven track record in delivering results for eCommerce brands.Everyday Duties• Manage Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Meta Ads campaigns across eCommerce clients.• Conduct in-depth keyword research, audience segmentation, and competitor analysis.• Write compelling ad copy and test variations for optimal performance.• Build, monitor, and optimise shopping, search, display, video, and retargeting campaigns.• Track budgets, pacing, ROAS, and CPA to ensure client KPIs are met or exceeded.• Use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio for performance analysis.• Run A/B tests and conversion rate optimisation experiments in collaboration with CRO/UX teams.• Attend client calls, present results, and contribute to strategic quarterly reviews.• Collaborate with SEO, design, and content teams to align integrated marketing strategies.Key Responsibilities• Develop and execute paid media strategies that deliver on client objectives.• Own the end-to-end management of paid advertising accounts across search and social platforms.• Identify growth opportunities and present testing strategies to increase revenue or reduce costs.• Ensure data accuracy in tracking, attribution, and reporting tools.• Proactively manage performance, identifying issues and resolving them swiftly.• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, platform updates, and competitor activity.Key Competencies & SkillsPriority: Essential (Must-Have)• Platform Expertise:• Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Display, Video, Performance Max)• Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram)• Microsoft Advertising (Bing)• Analytics & Reporting:• Google Analytics 4 (GA4)• Google Tag Manager (GTM)• Looker Studio• eCommerce Experience:• Familiarity with Shopify, Magento, and WooCommerce• Product feed optimisation using tools like GMC and Shoptimised• Technical Skills:• Conversion tracking and event setup (GA4/GTM)• Bid strategy management (manual, automated, ROAS, CPA)• Campaign Strategy:• Audience targeting (custom segments, remarketing)• Funnel-based media planning• Communication & Language:• High level English language skills - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels B2, C1 or C2• Clear written and verbal reporting for client stakeholders• Presentation of campaign strategy and results in client meetingsPriority: Preferred (Nice-to-Have)• Paid Social & Other Platforms:• TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads, LinkedIn Ads• CRO & UX Collaboration:• Experience working alongside conversion rate specialists or UX teams• Scripts & Automation:• Knowledge of Google Ads Scripts or platform automation tools• Feed Management Tools:• Practical experience using ShoptimisedPriority: Beneficial (Bonus Skills)• Experience with offline conversion tracking and CRM integrations.• Familiarity with attribution modelling (data-driven, linear, position-based).• Understanding of brand safety and ad policy compliance.Qualifications & CertificationsRequired:• Google Ads Search Certification (via Skillshop)• Google Ads Shopping Certification• Google Analytics Certification (GA4)Preferred:• Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate or Media Buying Professional• Microsoft Advertising CertificationBachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, or equivalent (notessential but desirable)Ideal Candidate Will Be:• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.• Confident in managing multiple client accounts and deadlines.• Proactive in identifying opportunities for growth and optimisation.• Commercially minded with an understanding of business impact beyond platform metrics.
