Code Sensei PositionCode Ninjas is the nation's fastest-growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can't wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. Our core promise is, Kids have fun, parents see results.What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a part-time Code Sensei to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Sensei's are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.Responsibilities Include:Training – go through the curriculum and learn itCreate a positive and safe environment in which students can growWork with children to determine skill setsPrepare and teach lessons to our ninjasProvide feedback to parents after working with a studentFollow opening/closing duties dailyClean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standardsReport weekly to center owners on progressReport daily to center owners with respect to day's activities and productivity in dojoQualifications:Knowledge of block coding, Java, LUA, Python, C#, and C++Understanding of video game development and coding for gamesUnderstanding of Roblox Studio development using LUAKnowledge of Minecraft modding and the tools used to modify Minecraft mobs, blocks, and biomesFamiliarity with game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, and GodotFamiliarity with graphic design tools like the Adobe Suite, Substance Painter, and CanvaSome understanding of 3D modeling and animation tools like ZBrush, Blender, and MayaCandidates Must Be Capable Of:Working with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)Interacting with the general publicComfortable with teaching, mentoring, and child careMust work well with others; collaboratesKnowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic conceptsMust be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequentlyExtra Attention Will Be Given To Candidates That:Know Roblox Studio development and LUA codingKnow Minecraft modding and how to teach itKnow Unreal Engine 5 and how to develop games with itKnow Unity 6 and how to develop games with itLive in or near Palm Beach County, FloridaCompensation: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
