We are known for precision craftsmanship and building durable, high-performance products designed for demanding environments.Our team works closely across engineering, detailing, and fabrication to deliver fabrication-ready solutions that support efficient, high-quality production.Role SummaryTopper Industries is seeking a Senior CAD Designer / Detailing Lead to own the quality, accuracy, and flow of all fabrication drawings across the business.This role goes beyond traditional detailing — it sits at the center of engineering, production, and procurement, ensuring drawings are not only accurate, but buildable, efficient, and aligned with shop realitiesYou will lead drawing reviews, redlines, and QC processes, while continuing to produce and improve fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor. This is a hands-on role with ownership, ideal for someone who wants to elevate drafting standards, improve processes, and directly impact production outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using Autodesk InventorTranslate engineering and conceptual designs into complete, shop-ready drawing packagesProduce assemblies, subassemblies, weldments, and part-level documentationQuality Control & Drawing OwnershipOwn drawing QC, redlines, and review cycles across all projectsReview and mark up drawings before release to productionStandardize and enforce detailing best practices, templates, and workflowsServe as the final checkpoint for drawing accuracy and completenessCross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with engineering, shop, and purchasing to ensure drawings are aligned with real-world fabrication and material needsFacilitate communication between departments to resolve design gaps earlySupport procurement by ensuring accurate BOMs and material requirementsProduction & Process SupportAssist with nesting and material optimization to support fabrication efficiencyIdentify and drive process improvements across detailing and production workflowsImprove drafting standards to reduce rework, errors, and production delaysExternal & Overflow WorkManage and review work from third-party or contract detailers (if applicable)Ensure external work meets Topper's standards before releaseQualifications5+ years of experience in detailing, drafting, or fabrication environmentsStrong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (required)Proven experience producing fabrication-ready drawing packagesStrong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, tolerances, and shop workflowsExperience reviewing drawings, managing redlines, and enforcing quality standardsAbility to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and purchasingStrong attention to detail with a process and improvement mindsetExperience with BOMs, nesting, or production support is highly preferredThis is a full-time, exempt position based in Woodland, WA.
