Business Analyst – Commodities Trading

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Commodities Technology team, with a strong focus on Agricultural/Soft commodities trading and risk management. This role involves close collaboration with Front Office, Quants, Market Risk, Middle Office, and Back Office teams to drive successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Front Office (Traders, Sales) and Quants to gather and refine business requirementsFacilitate communication across business and technology stakeholdersDocument detailed requirements for financial and physical commodity trades (OTC & listed)Work with development teams to estimate effort and support delivery in an Agile/Scrum environmentDefine and execute test cases, supporting UAT and validation before production releaseProvide post-production support and assist in resolving critical issuesRequired Domain ExpertiseStrong understanding of Commodities Trading, especially Agricultural/Soft commoditiesKnowledge of Derivatives: Futures, Forwards, Options, OTC productsFamiliarity with commodity exchanges such as ICE, CBOT, CMEUnderstanding of physical trading lifecycle (inventory, leasing, financing, logistics)Technical SkillsHands-on experience with Endur and/or Murex (trade capture, market data, simulations, EOD processing)Ability to write SQL queries for analysis and data validationAdvanced Excel skills (formulas, pivots, macros)Experience working with Jira and Agile methodologiesPreferred QualificationsExperience working directly with trading desks and risk teamsStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, trading-focused environment
