Director of Corporate Accounting

Taurus is partnering with a boutique insurance organization focused in annuities to help find a Director level accounting professional to work directly with senior executives. This is a newly created accounting function that will own all non-investment related accounting and finance functions.Key responsibilities include:Managing a team of two employeesManage and oversee the accounting for policyholder premiums, transactions,witholdings and taxesGL Accounting and managing transactional workBank reconciliations and recordkeeping within systemsAccounting oversight for 1099s and premium taxes, along with other tax reporting work with internal teamsExpense management and budgetingVendor managementKey projects for system and automation improvementRequirements:7-15 years of experiencePrevious experience in a management function requiredExperience in the insurance or financial services sectorCPA preferred
