Senior Accountant

We are partnered with the Controller at a well-established construction company in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area to hire for a Senior Accountant who is eager to grow into a management role in the short term (ie Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller). This high-visibility role partners closely with the Controller and Accounting team to support project-level financial operations across billing, collections, subcontractor management, compliance, and month-end accounting activities. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the full project accounting lifecycle within a structured construction environment while interacting directly with project stakeholders and internal operations teams. This opportunity offers strong exposure to AIA billing, lien rights management, subcontractor compliance, and project financial reporting. Responsibilities• Support construction billing, receivables, and subcontractor payment processes• Assist with project accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities• Maintain project documentation, compliance records, and accounting accuracy• Partner with internal teams to support project financial operations• Utilize accounting systems and Excel to support reporting and analysis• Contribute to process improvements and additional accounting initiatives as needed Qualifications• 3+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry• Experience supporting billing, receivables, payables, and construction accounting functions• Proficiency with Excel and accounting software systems• Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance• Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail skills• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
