Role SummarySenior low-voltage cabling subject matter expert responsible for cabling architecture, standards compliance, quality assurance, and complex technical problem resolution across the site.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and govern low-voltage cabling design intent and installation standards aligned to BICSI/ANSI-TIA (pathways, separation, bend radius, fill, grounding/bonding, labeling, test).Own site-wide quality plan: inspection checkpoints, hold points, NCR process, rework prevention, and acceptance criteria for copper and fiber systems.Lead technical integration with the network deployment team: cabinet layouts, patch-field strategy, port mapping, and turnover artifacts (as-builts, test results, labeling schema).Resolve complex field issues (pathway constraints, density conflicts, fiber management, cross-trade interference) and drive engineering change proposals.Mentor and provide technical direction to TPM2/TPM1 leads; train installers on workmanship standards and common defects.Validate test plans and sampling strategy; ensure calibrated test equipment and compliant reporting formats.Own readiness for client audits/walkdowns and support final acceptance/commissioning events.Required Skills And KnowledgeExpert knowledge of structured cabling systems (fiber and copper), pathways/spaces, rack/cabinet build standards, and high-density data hall deployments.Deep familiarity with BICSI practices and ANSI/TIA standards (e.g., TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-606, TIA-607; relevant test standards).Quality management: inspection regimes, defect classification, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.Ability to translate design intent into field-executable standards, work packages, and training.Strong technical documentation: as-built validation, redlines, port maps, and turnover packages.Stakeholder management with construction, facilities, and client technical authorities.Certifications / TrainingPreferred: BICSI Technician/Installer/Designer credentials (e.g., TECH/INSTC/RCDD) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.Preferred: Fiber test credentials (e.g., FOA CFOT/CFOS or equivalent).
