Service Technician 1
Position SummaryAs a Service Technician 1, you are a multi-faceted maintenance professional providing quality service in a timely manner to our residents and community. This role is responsible for completing repairs in occupied apartment homes as well as executing repairs requested by the company. A successful Service Technician 1 is able to manage their time effectively, is detail oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents, associates and vendors.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform service requests for residents daily and timely with moderate supervision and assistancePerform system repairs on electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, etc.Perform detailed work with carpentry, drywall repairs and interior/exterior painting, etc.Perform preventative maintenance as assignedClean pools as directed, monitor chemical balance, maintain logs as required by city ordinances, when applicablePerform daily grounds maintenance of the property including picking up and disposing of all trash, pet defecation removal, maintain pet waste stations, and sweeping walkwaysParticipate in property improvements and preventive maintenance scheduled tasks, promptlyMust utilize personal cell phone and specified apps as part of your daily roleMust use personal vehicle to go between properties as assigned during work hoursMust take part in the on-call rotation, as scheduledQualificationsQualifications:2-3 years maintenance experience requiredSolid mechanical aptitude requiredAble to lift and carry up to 80 pounds, climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a timeAble to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 poundsAble to work outdoors in all weather conditionsAble to be on feet constantly for entire work shift, if applicableKnowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systemsEPA certification desiredComplete tasks in a safe and efficient mannerAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with strong motivation to learn & contribute on a daily basisAble to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and textExperienced in Microsoft products preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; Willing and able to learn new software programsFollow Weidner’s Mission, Vision and Values and comply with all Weidner policies and procedures as well as all Fair Housing, local, state/province, and federal lawsPrompt, regular attendance; wear company dress code / uniform & maintain professional appearance at all timesWork effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independentlyAbility to work outside of normal scheduled hours as neededWilling and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as neededWorking knowledge of English; detail oriented, well organizedMust agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testingMust have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation, at all timesDriver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired at all times and match the country in which associate will work
