Senior Rust Developer Location: Round Rock, TX (Onsite)Employment Type: Contract Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Rust Developer to support enterprise modernization initiatives by leading Java-to-Rust and C/C++-to-Rust migration projects. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Rust development experience, expertise in backend systems, cloud-native applications, and distributed architectures. Must-Have Skills 5-7+ years of software development experience 2+ years of hands-on Rust development Strong coding experience in Rust, C/C++, and Python Experience migrating Java/C++ applications to Rust Expertise in Tokio, Async Programming, Concurrency & Multithreading Strong knowledge of REST APIs, gRPC, Microservices, and Distributed Systems Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB Messaging platforms: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus Cloud technologies: AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins Linux Administration & Shell Scripting Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools Key Responsibilities Lead Java-to-Rust and C/C++-to-Rust migration initiatives. Design and develop scalable, secure, high-performance Rust applications. Build cloud-native microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven solutions. Optimize application performance, memory efficiency, and reliability. Mentor engineering teams and provide Rust technical leadership. Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and product teams in an Agile environment.
