Apply today!About the roleThe Fuel Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of fuel plant activities during assigned shifts, with a primary focus on evening operations. This role oversees fuel-side operations and assigned personnel while supporting shredder and tipping floor production objectives. The Fuel Operations Supervisor works closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure reliable plant performance during normal operations as well as planned and unplanned downtime.This position reports to the Fuel Superintendent and Operations Superintendent, with the Shift Supervisor retaining ultimate decision-making authority regarding overall operational priorities.Based on business needs and staffing levels at the time of hire, this role will work a rotating schedule that includes nights and days to support a seven-day operation, following successful completion of required training. Note that this position is open to a sign-on bonus.Key ResponsibilitiesReview daily production goals, fuel-side conditions, and operating schedulesConduct routine plant rounds to monitor shredders and associated equipment for safe and efficient operationManage fuel quality to ensure compliance with plant and operational requirementsEnsure fuel-side operations are performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and best practicesServe as Fuel Control Line Authority (CLA) and prepare Work Clearance PermitsCollaborate with the Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Fuel Superintendent, and Operations Superintendent to align on daily operational prioritiesOversee housekeeping activities, shredder hammer turns, and hammer changesMonitor shift relief transitions to ensure continuity of operationsReview service requests prior to entry and executionReview operator logs for accuracy, completeness, and operational insightUtilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to review equipment history and manage corrective and preventive maintenance work ordersLead daily safety meetings with assigned shift personnelConduct operator training and support workforce development initiativesSupervise rail tipper operations, tipping floor operations, shredding operations, maintenance activities, and metals processingSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervise approximately 7 to 14 employeesPlan, assign, and direct daily work activities to meet operational prioritiesProvide training, coaching, and performance feedback to assigned personnelEvaluate employee performance and administer recognition or corrective action as appropriateAddress employee concerns and resolve operational or personnel issues in accordance with company policy and applicable regulationsQualificationsTo perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Position RequirementsHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. from a State Department of Education-recognized institutionSuccessful completion of facility Qualifying Standards for Operations Fuel Supervisor and all required technical trainingAbility to read, understand, and apply company safety programs and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Hot WorkAbility to interpret process flow diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and written and verbal instructionsStrong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead frontline teamsWorking knowledge of maintenance management systems for scheduling preventive maintenance, submitting work orders, and managing equipment historyPrior supervisory experience is preferredOther DutiesPerform the duties of other supervisory positions as needed to provide coverage during absences, vacations, or staffing needsWhat We Offer You In addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future. The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $100,400.00 - $133,500.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary.
