Direct Support Worker

This service provides assistance with the acquisition, improvement and/or retention of skills and provides necessary support to achieve personal habilitative outcomes that enhance an individual's ability to live in their community as specified in the Individual Plan of Care. This service includes a combination of habilitative and personal support activities as they would naturally occur during the course of a day. This service is not available for use in licensed settings. The service may be delivered in a personal home (one's own or family home) and in the community. demonstrate competence in knowledge of DDS policies and procedures: abuse/neglect; incident reporting; client rights and confidentiality; handling fire and other emergencies, prevention of sexual abuse, knowledge of approved and prohibited physical management techniques demonstrate competence/knowledge in topics required to safely support the individual as described in the Individual Plan demonstrate competence, skills, abilities, education and/or experience necessary to achieve the specific training outcomes as described in the individual Plan ability to participate as a member of the team if requested by the individual demonstrate understanding of Person-Centered Planning demonstrate competence/knowledge in positive behavioral programming, working with individuals who experience moderate to severe psychological and psychiatric behavioral health needs and ability to properly implement behavioral support plans Medication Administration Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Must have driver's license Pass a criminal background check Must have 1st AID CPR AED Certificate Pass a Department of Developmental Service registry check Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the individual/family Must have the ability to complete record keeping as required by the employer Job Types: Part-time Pay: $23 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Referral program Vision insurance Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred) Behavioral health: 1 year (Preferred) Personal Care: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: Driver's License (Required) Shift availability: 35 hours a week, 9am-4pm Monday-Friday (time/dates subject to change) Work Location: One location Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $23.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Mileage reimbursement Paid orientation Paid time off Referral program Work Location: In person
