Kennel Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, providing exceptional support in a kennel environment. This role involves caring for various animals, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The Kennel Technician will also assist with customer service duties, creating a welcoming atmosphere for pet owners. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area, including cleaning cages and common areas. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with animal restraint and handling during veterinary procedures. Support pet owners with customer service inquiries and provide information about services. Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and staff. Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinary staff. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to animal care. Qualifications Previous experience in animal care or as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Experience in dog handling and animal restraint techniques is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physically demanding tasks throughout the day. Knowledge of basic animal behavior and health indicators is an advantage. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
