Walmart is seeking a highly skilled Application Developer (SDE 4) to join its engineering team and drive the modernization of the PRM (Payment Rules Management) platform. This role requires a senior-level engineer with strong expertise in Node.js, React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with a heavy emphasis on backend development using Node.js. The selected candidate will work on implementing and enhancing business-critical functionalities across various retail domains, ensuring legacy-equivalent behavior, seamless cart experiences, and area-specific payment processing capabilities.
Required Skills:
10+ years of software development experience.
Strong expertise in:
- Node.js (Must Have)
- TypeScriptReact.jsNext.jsJestUnit Testing and Test Automation
- Experience designing and developing scalable web applications and microservices.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile development practices.
- Experience with:
- Functional Testing
- Integration Testing
- Regression Testing
- Defect Resolution and Production Support
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance PRM functionalities and payment workflows.
- Perform discovery, legacy system analysis, and business flow mapping.
- Create and update technical design documentation.
- Build scalable applications and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Implement and validate cart and payment processing functionalities.
- Conduct unit, functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Resolve defects and ensure application stability and performance.
- Validate metrics and ensure successful stakeholder sign-offs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

- Other specialized retail areas
- The primary objective is to ensure:
- Legacy-equivalent behavior within PRM.Resolution of cart and payment restrictions.
- End-to-end validation of item additions, services, and payment acceptance rules.
- Successful implementation of area-specific business rules and workflows.

Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a senior engineer who:
- Has deep expertise in Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Can work independently and lead complex technical initiatives.
- Has experience with large-scale eCommerce or retail applications.
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Primary Skills: Node.js, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Jest, Unit Testing
- Industry Preference: Retail / eCommerce experience is highly preferred.
