Structural EIT
DescriptionGeneral Duties and ResponsibilitiesSpecific Structural EIT duties include structural planning, designing, engineering and producing construction documentation utilizing Revit and various structural engineering methods and software. Additional duties include assistance with specification writing and construction administration services. This position reports administratively to both the Studio Director and the Director of Engineering, with day-to-day guidance and task assignments by the Structural Team Leader.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution with an emphasis or specific coursework in structural engineering for buildingsMaster's degree in Civil Engineering is not mandatory, but recommendedPassed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and hold an EIT certificationExceptional interpersonal skills are essential along with strong listening, verbal and written skillsDemonstrated ability to clearly communicate project objectives, problems, solutions and scope changes with clients, field personnel and internal staffAbility to facilitate close work with clients, support personnel and internal staff to achieve deadlines and quality workDemonstrated ability to work well in a team/collaborative setting, make sound decisions and drive actionDemonstrated exceptional planning, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to apply logical steps to problem solvingAbility to function effectively in a demanding environment and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyMust be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)Familiarity using Revit to model structural elements and produce structural drawingsHaving structural analysis software is a plus, but not required (examples: RISA 3D, RAM Elements, Enercalc, ETABS, SAP)Must be self-motivatedKnowledge of building codes, regulations and requirements along with thorough knowledge of building materials and construction methods, knowledge of procedures and sequencing of construction documents will eventually be requiredAbility to organize and prioritize personal workload and make necessary adjustments to meet strict deadlines; must be results oriented and milestone drivenAbility to work with modest supervision and guidanceAbility to make independent decisions within a general frameworkHave a natural desire for continuous professional improvement/developmentProfessional Development & GrowthExposure to a wide variety of structural systems and project typesMentorship from licensed structural engineersProgressive responsibility in design, analysis, and construction administrationSupport toward obtaining Professional Engineer licensurePhysical Requirements and Environmental AdaptabilityAbility to navigate construction sites in various stages of development, including uneven terrain and temporary access conditionsWork is performed in an office setting and in the field; job site monitoring may be performed in various weather conditionsOccasional travel may be requiredActivities may be necessary outside of the normal office hours depending on workload, schedules and client geographical locationThe base salary for this role is between $65,000 - $97,000 based on experience.
