This role reports to the Director of Interior Design. This seat is for a highly creative and technical professional who manages a team of Junior and/or Associate level designers and is a primary point of contact for our clients, as well as builders and consultants involved in projects.Key Responsibilities: In this role, you are highly skilled, sharing knowledge, and fully responsible for managing all aspects of your projects. Goal: Guide your team, projects, clients and keep clients happy.Meet with Interior Design Director weekly for guidance and for final review of all design presentations to uphold LUDC standards and aesthetic – from setting initial design direction in Charette and Midpoint and Final Reviews for each project to uphold LUDC standards and aesthetic.Create compelling interiors of the highest quality from concept to installation:Programming; Conceptual/Schematic Design; Design Development; Procurement; InstallationKeep projects moving forward at all stages.Management of all Budgets, Schedules, Specifications for purchase, Design Presentations, and DocumentsLeads all Client Meetings and Presentations throughout projectExecute on your design – highly skilled in scale, space planning, and executing design onsiteDesign primary spaces (alongside Director on larger scale projects) and manage/delegate to your design team for secondary spaces for:Architectural MaterialsFurnishings & Fabrics, Lighting, Art & AccessoriesProduction of Architectural drawings, including delegation of work and final redlines of your design team’s work for:Plans, elevations; Plumbing & Lighting layouts; Custom Millwork; Tile designs; Detailed finish schedulesPoint of contact on site with builder and all trades for Construction Administration to collaborate and execute designCollaborate with Purchasing & Logistic Coordinator on:Expediting furnishings projectsTracking project variances in Budget vs ActualCoordinating with PLC on all scheduling for trade site visits and review of custom furnishings during productionLead and manage a small team of Associate/Junior interior designers thorugh:Structured MentoringClear delegation of tasks and deadlines on each projectReview work for quality assuranceProvide constructive criticismVerbal/written performance plan as needed (with HR)To Be Successful You Are: An excellent communicator, both written and verbalAble to interact with High-Net-Worth clients and enjoy being client and builder facingAble to manage concurrent projects (up to 8 at one time)Able to maintain a balanced workflow and meet deadlines through strong organization skillsKnowledgeable of high-end showrooms and vendors for both furnishings and finishesHighly collaborative, meeting with your team and Director throughout the weekWilling to make design and technical decisions as a leader, while including appropriate team members in decision making process, if requiredAn expert in Microsoft suite, AutoCAD and sketching.
