With multiple offices, more than 300 employees, and 7 divisions – Asphalt and Concrete, Waterproofing and Specialty Coatings, Roofing, Snow Removal and Parking Lot Sweeping, Landscaping, and Construction, DCPS provides specialized, integrated service-solutions to commercial property owners and managers.Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully.Position SummaryThe Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities from pre-construction through project completion. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with DCPS quality standards.This position serves as the on-site leader, managing field personnel, subcontractors, and daily operations while acting as a key point of contact for project stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all phases of construction projects from mobilization through closeoutDevelop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules and sequencing plansCoordinate field operations across subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teamsSupervise and lead field personnel, subcontractors, and labor crewsProvide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to team membersEnsure adequate staffing and resource allocation across job sitesEnforce all company safety policies and OSHA standards on-siteConduct regular safety meetings, site inspections, and hazard assessmentsMaintain a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractorsMonitor workmanship and ensure all construction meets quality standards and code requirementsPerform routine quality checks and manage punch list completionCollaborate with Project Managers to track budgets, control costs, and mitigate overrunsIdentify and resolve field issues proactively to maintain schedule and marginServe as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractorsCommunicate project updates, risks, and progress effectively to all stakeholdersMaintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and progress updatesEnsure all inspections, permits, and regulatory requirements are metQualifications8–10+ years of experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent roleStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systemsExperience managing commercial or industrial construction projectsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsExperience with construction management software (e.g., Procore or similar)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentValid driver's license requiredPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fieldOSHA 30 certificationExperience with large-scale commercial or industrial projectsFamiliarity with lean construction practices and quality control processesPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites for extended periodsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsWork EnvironmentThis is a field-based position requiring regular presence on active construction sites.
