Application InstructionsPlease apply by clicking the Green "Apply Now" button abovePosition DescriptionDivision: Brannan Sand + GravelPosition: Quality Control Technician AsphaltReports To: QC ManagerFLSA Status: Full Time / Non-ExemptLocation: 5880 Lipan St. Denver, CO 80216Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.00Sign on Bonus: $600.00Position Summary:A QC Tech at Brannan performs routine duties to complex field observations for the purpose of verifying Asphalt and Aggregate materials to the construction plans and specifications. This is done by the testing and inspection of road construction materials, including but not limited to: Hot Mix Asphalt, Aggregates and Field Density.Qualifications:3 years experienceCDOT QC/QA Certifications (CAPA Level A, B, & C), Preferred Hazmat & nuclear gauge safety training certification, Preferred Functional Responsibilities:Responsible for performing proper procedures and accurate computations for all testing methods Responsible for testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable standards and specifications Develop skills and knowledge to acquire CAPA E Certification Provide verbal and written material test results to QC Manager, QC Supervisor, Plant Operators, and Plant Managers Understanding of AASHTO, ASTM, and CDOT Specification Participate in laboratory accreditation events and proficiency sample testing Perform field nuclear density gauge testing and instruct paving crew and roller operators to achieve passing resultsPerform asphalt coring and patchingDevelops the attitude and skills to provide training and guidance to other techniciansConducts calibrations and verifications of laboratory testing equipmentPreforms on-site observations, collects representative samples, and performs tests to monitor construction processes Records observations and results that are reported daily to supervisorsPractices organization, cleanliness, attention to detail, quality and safetyCommunicate effectively with managers, field personnel, lab personnel and clientsAvailability to work some nights and weekends (including overtime)Ability to lift and carry 50lbs over uneven ground for a distance of 300 ftBenefits:Group Medical, Dental, and Life InsuranceCompany-paid basic life insurance for employees, spouses, as well as childrenEmployee-only coverage in one of our plans is completely free!Vision Care InsuranceShort-Term Disability401k Savings PlansVoluntary Group Term LifeLegal Shield/ID ShieldCanvas Credit UnionAFLAC Supplemental InsuranceDirect DepositPaid WeeklyThe specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive.
