Leading in metal forming solutions partnered for Aerospace, Defense, Energy, and more, Spincraft's mission has formed a division, Engineering Technologies Group (ETG), a part of the global Standex International team, with four locations worldwide.What You'll DoReporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and quality control standards.Shift Schedule: 1st Shift 7:00AM-3:30PMTechnical JobRead and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine machine setup, type of material or part, quantity, and finish dimensionsDemonstrate a thorough understanding of the program language to identify possible errors and edit as required to improve finish requirementsCreate and modify programs directed by Engineering or Management for program development purposes Assemble and operate CNC machines, including 5-axis, to meet desired specificationsMaintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processesInstall and align machine accessories, such as cutting tools, work positioners, plates, fixtures, and shields, using hand tools and measuring instruments, or coordinating information into computer control panelManipulate machine controls, such as buttons, switches, dials, levers, and pedals, to regulate and adjust cutting speed and feeds Make necessary offsets to maintain print/sketch tolerances and demonstrate a thorough understanding of tool pressure and wearMeasure dimensions of finished part, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, or check fixtureCut parts by controlling movement of part secured in fixture, on work positioner, or entering commands to retrieve and start preprogrammed cutting instructions Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairsTrim, sand, and drill parts, and deburr parts when required Perform daily/weekly operator maintenance on machine equipment/tools (oil, clean, and inspectionAccurately execute PCS (Process Control Sheets) and provide feedback when revisions are neededAssist Engineering with the implementation, creation, and maintenance of PCS Document actions by completing production and quality logs as neededAccomplish organization goals by actively exploring opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. (SQDC) Train others by openly sharing information, knowledge, and expertise with the teamComplete job assignments as directed by Manufacturing Manager Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in audits as directed SafetyMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsComply with all company rules including company safety policy and all federal, state, local, and other safety regulations and practicesUse personal protective equipment and devices provided for machinery, equipment, tools and processes, when defined in PCS, Company Safety Policy, Job Safety Analysis or Management directionReport all unsafe conditions, accidents and injuries immediately to managementHousekeepingActively participate in 6S and lean activities as outlined by the Company Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following Company instructionsMaintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsStore and maintain tools, equipment and gauges as defined by company standards Keep work area clean and organized to company standards/expectations Daily cleaning and sweeping of work area, tools and equipmentEmpty trash and waste as needed Personal items removed from workstationsWhat You'll BringHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) Minimum 5 years proven experience in operating/setting up CNC Machine Tool Experience in programming with G code requiredCNC Machine Tool schooling or relative experience preferredProficient at reading and understanding blueprint requirements, and ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) Forklift experience is preferred Reliable transportation Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to detailsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamCapable of following directionsTake responsibility for achieving production efficiency, quality of product and reports discrepant material immediately Demonstrate customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customers Maintain a positive attitude and communicate openly and honestly with othersSolve problems proactively and contribute to continuously improving the process/productAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periodsComfortable working in environments with noise, heat, or dustRegularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day Equal Opportunity Employer.
