People like you.Visit our careers page to see what exciting opportunities and company perks await!Job DescriptionMicrochip Technology is looking for a qualified Principal Process Engineer (Thin Films/CMP) working the day shift who will sustain and improve Fab-4 Thin Films/Chemical Mechanical Polishing processes.Perform tests to improve yield and reliability, qualify new processes/equipment, improve cycle time, and reduce costAnalyze, summarize and communicate test resultsSupport critical quality systems: PFMEA, SPC, MPSP, MSA, and Sustaining Change ControlTroubleshoot equipment and process problemsRework and disposition non-conforming product lotsWrite process specifications and reportsSupport Production as requiredKnowledge of basic statistics is preferredRequirements/QualificationsBachelor’s degree - Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or related discipline10+ years of experience in Semiconductor CVD/PVD/CMP process engineeringProficiency in written and oral communicationAbility to multi-task while paying close attention to detailStrong interpersonal and troubleshooting skillsInitiative to work independently and keep projects on scheduleProven reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality a mustPreferred QualificationsStrong background in chemistrySemiconductor technology and/or manufacturing experienceSpecial RequirementsMust work on site 5 days a week during standard first shift hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM or similar).Flexible work schedule for occasional training and project supportCritical Physical RequirementsAble to lift, push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 50 lbs; sit 5%; stand 60%; walk 35%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing.
